The canoe was the prime instrument in the discovery and mapping of Canada. It is deeply entrenched in our history and culture. The Algonquin Eco-Lodge bases many of its’ activities around the canoe. From short evening paddles on our private lake searching for beavers, to day trips up the York River to see High Falls, to multi-day guided canoe and camping trips in Algonquin Park. Definitely the best way to explore Canada!
“If it is love that binds people to places in this nation of rivers and in this river of nations then one enduring expression of that simple truth, is surely the canoe.”
— James Raffan, adventurer, acclaimed author and Director Emeritus of the Canadian Canoe Museum
