Algonquin Wilderness EcoLodge is located on a real Canadian beaver pond (Moffat Pond - a 30 acre (12.5 ha) private lake!) and a beautiful waterfall. Straddling the edge of Algonquin Park the EcoLodge is very remote. There's even a 2.3 km hike/ski from the parking lot (through Algonquin Park)! This isolation is perfect for a "real" wilderness experience. It is also ideal for wildlife. The EcoLodge area has populations of deer, moose, wolves, bear, porcupine, and beaver, among other small animals.

There are some very beautiful wildflowers that grow around the Ecolodge, both land and water flowers.
Cardinal Flower - usually only found in the eastern part of the Park, but we have found it on the York River.

Pickerel Weeds - a great wall of purple to greet you as you canoe along small rivers.

Water Lily. Such lotus like perfection! And they smell nice too!
Sundew - one of 2 meat eating plants we have in Algonquin Park. The other is the Pitcher Plant, which can also be found in the area.
Trillium - the national flower of Ontario. At the Ecolodge we have pink, white, and indian trilliums. They only bloom in the Spring
