Outside Coordinator
- a working holiday -
This job is suited to an individual who can work independently, has a
good work ethic, likes people, and loves nature. As you will be on your own for
some periods of time and then nearly over run with a chaotic schedule of
arriving/departing guests you must be very adaptable and calm minded.
Duties:
- Luggage transfers using the ATV and a trailer.
- Preparing their rooms prior to arrival. Making the bed, making sure
room is clean, etc.
- Cutting and stacking firewood.
- Driving to the dump to get rid of the garbage.
- Helping to serve meals.
- Helping to clean all dishes.
- Grooming trails using a chainsaw and a brushsaw.
- Helping to keep the lodge clean - once a day sweeping floors,
cleaning bathrooms.
- Dealing with tourists questions about the area, wildlife, etc.
- Lighting bonfires at night, and entertaining guests.
- When the Lodge is not busy it is expected that you will use your
initiative to do other jobs that constantly need doing, like painting, stacking
firewood, trail grooming, etc.
Qualifications:
These are the ideal qualities we are looking for, but if you can meet
most of them we can provide some "on the job" training for anything you don't
have.
- You must be friendly and "in a good mood" all the time.
- Basic First Aid & CPR.
- You must be highly adaptable and be able to "think on your
feet".
- Chainsaw operators license.
- You must make a commitment to work for July, August, & September.
Late June till mid October would be preferred.
- You must have a valid drivers license and having your own vehicle is
an asset, though not required.

A schedule will be worked out so that you get a day off every week, and
depending on our schedules you may be able to go on a canoe trip or two.
