The Algonquin Eco-Lodge, located on the southern border of Algonquin Park (only 3 hours from Toronto or Ottawa), is a wilderness enthusiasts' dream! Summer or winter, there is always plenty to do and see. With over 40 km of groomed trackset and wilderness trails inside Algonquin Park, the Algonquin Eco-Lodge is a the best Algonquin Park hotel for cross country skiing, dog sledding, snowshoeing, hiking, and canoeing. In fact, we have one of the largest single trail systems in Southern Ontario, and offer one of the best wilderness experiences in Canada! And the fall colours are truly spectacular! Hiking our trails, or paddling a canoe on our private lake in the autumn is an unforgettable way to experience our famous fall colors.

Algonquin Eco-Lodge - a Summer and Winter resort

Designed and built as the Algonquin Nordic Wilderness Lodge, the Ecolodge was created to give you the best wilderness experience possible, while minimizing our impact on the environment. It has the feel and atmosphere of a European mountain lodge, and is one of the most secluded hotels in Algonquin Park. In fact, your experience begins with a leisurely 2.3 km walk, or cycle, or ski (about 25 minutes) through Algonquin Park to reach our front doors. Don't worry - your luggage can be transferred for you (optional).

Our Eco-Lodge is beautifully secluded amidst remote Algonquin forests, where even hydro lines and telephone poles can't reach. We are completely off-grid and yet, with the alternative energy we create from our waterfall (we use 100% micro-hydro electricity), the Eco-Lodge still provides all the finer comforts. Things such as indoor plumbing, hot showers, an outdoor wood-fired sauna, and even a carbon neutral hot tub (the only one in southern Ontario) heated by electricity from our own waterfall! And with 17 private bedrooms, there is more than enough space to comfortably hold 34 people.

If you are looking for a "Digital Detox" vacation, then the Eco-Lodge is the place for you! Since we are so far in the Algonquin forest that there are no phone lines, no internet service, and even cell phones don't work you are guaranteed that "work" can't get hold of you. You have no excuse now but to enjoy the company of your family and friends, play a board game with your spouse, or join the other guests toasting marshmallows around the campfire. So leave your laptops and blackberries at home, and bring that book you've been meaning to read!

All this, plus our extensive groomed wilderness trail network, a private 30 acre (12.5 ha) lake, and even a resident wolf pack, makes a visit to the Eco-Lodge an experience to remember.
